Signs
I am in the minority on many things in my life. I dislike so many movies and TV shows, and what I like so many people hate.
One of things I like is M Night Shyamalan's movies. I really like them all.
So right now you may be thinking to yourself, what is wrong with this person, and why am I reading this BS about a terrible director. But hopefully somewhere, somehow, someone will agree with me that he is a brilliant writer and director.
One of his movies that I love is Signs. I can't even begin to count how many times I have watched it.
I love the extremely dry humor, and the fantastic acting. It has one of my favorite actors Joaquin Phoenix, and Mel Gibson does a great job also.
It is coming from the perspective of an average person without military involvement, which is another unique look at alien invasion.
The main character has lost his faith in God. As a Christian, I totally understand how hard it can be to keep one's faith after a devastating event, but I also know how precious it is to find it again.
Many people have issues with this movie. I can totally understand why--especially the aliens, why don't they have weapons, why would they come to a planet that is 70% water. What would the alien have done in the cornfield if it had rained. After watching this movie over and over, I have picked up a hundred more, but the flaws do not outweigh the magnitude of this most wonderous (<==not an actual word) film.

About a Boy--Hugh Grant--Toni Collette--Nicholas Hoult
About a wealthy man who never worked a day in his life (he lives off his father's christmas music royalties.) He is egotistical, and doesn't have time to care for anyone.
Then a boy pops into his life, and nothing will ever be the same.
The best part of this movie is it's dry humor.
Normally, movies like this have a great deal of slapstick comedy, which I despise, but this one is well written and well acted. I love every part of it.
In writing this I just found out there is going to be a TV sitcom with the same name. Usually this doesn't work out well, and becomes very disappointing, but I have my fingers crossed. It starts on February 22 on NBC!
Wow, Minnie Driver is going to star in it. I hope it does well.
But either way the movie is perfect!

GLADIATOR--Are you not entertained!!
I have always loved history, and ancient Rome is fascinating to me.
This breathtaking movie stars Russel Crow and
Joaquin phoenix, who are two of my favorite actors. Joaquin
plays Commodus, who is an emperor of Rome, and who is quite
mad.
I felt he had a resemblance to Caligula who was an extremely insane rulerof Rome who was assassinated, and his uncle put in charge.
Joaquin Phoenix is so believable as the deranged ruler, but in some way
enticing, and Russel Crow won an academy award for his superb
performance.
If you haven't seen it yet --please watch and enjoy!

This really doesn't have anything to do with the movie. I just think the shoes
are cool, except I like them better without heels.

Terminator
I love all things Terminator. From the moment I watched
the first terminator on the old reliable VHS I was hooked.
At the end of the movie I fell to my knees on the floor
screaming, "push the button!"
I have loved every terminator movie since that fateful day.
| Push the button!
Terminator 2 is thought to be the best of all the movies.
We meet John Connor for the first time! Sarah Connor is not the lovable waitress from the first movie, but a bad ass. The special effects from 23 years ago are still good.
Terminator 3- Rise of the Machines, is my least favorite,
and had the worst reviews of the four movies. I still loved it, cause 'duh' it's the terminator. I didn't feel that the actor playing John Connor, Nick Stahl, could pull off the role, though I think otherwise he is a good actor.
